Raupo Coastal Hike

DURATION: 4-5 Hours

Guided by a 5th generation farmer and owner of the property, you will start at the home of Joanna and Andrew Craw on Long Lookout Road.

This guided tour is guaranteed to impress those who enjoy walking, scenery and learning about NZ farming, and the history of the area.  Guided by a 5th generation farmer and owner of the property, you will start at the home of Joanna and Andrew Craw on Long Lookout Road.  Enjoy a cuppa and some NZ hospitality before donning some comfortable footwear and setting off.  Enjoy a picnic lunch en route and quiz the farmer/guide about all things local.   This farming location is one of the most scenic in NZ so photo opportunities abound.  A medium fitness is required for maximum enjoyment however the route can be dictated by the needs of the guests.

9.15am
Pick up from your Annandale Villa or Lodge

 

10:00am
Arrive at 110 Long Lookout Rd to meet Andrew your guide and enjoy a quick refreshment before setting off for the day. You will learn about the area, including Banks Peninsula’s colonization history, you will see seals in their natural habitat, you will learn about farming in NZ.  Andrew's family goes back 5 generations and each have left their mark on the land.  

 

Midday
Enjoy a picnic lunch en route.  Light a small fire in the rocks to make a hot drink and rest up before continuing on to Raupo Bay (unless fire bans are in place).

Continue on up Dereks Gully via Raupo Beach and back to the House for a cold drink.

 

3.30 pm

​Transfer back to your Villa or Lodge with a greater understanding of New Zealanders and their culture.
